Eventually, the French reached Moscow, furious to find it deserted and burned to the ground, forcing them to retreat the thousand miles back to France and face the harsh Russian winter. The march resulted in a huge loss of men and ultimately resulted in the destruction of his empire. The video also explains how scientists find evidence of these battles.
