Star clusters are natural groups of stars, from relatively small groups like the Pleiades, to large globular clusters. Note that star clusters here do not include either galaxies (which include many star clusters) or constellations (which are human inventions).

Video is from UK Astrophysical Fluids Facility. An animated scenario about the formation of stars in a cluster and the evolution of a cluster itself. A star that is being formed makes a chain reaction and other stars are born. Video is of great qua...lity. There is no talking, but music plays in the background. This video is appropriate for fourth grade through high school.

The findings come from Hubble's survey of more than 11,000 globular clusters in 100 galaxies of various sizes and shapes. All those galaxies are contained in the Virgo Cluster, an assemblage of about 2,000 galaxies that is a mere 54 million light-yea...rs from our own Milky Way. From that distance, Hubble was able to pick out the star clusters even in dim dwarf galaxies. Video is of average quality, there is no talking or music in this video. This is a very short video, appropriate for middle school or high school students looking at Virgo Cluster.

The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has captured a spectacular image of NGC 3603, located about 20,000 light years away in the Carina spiral arm of the Milky Way Galaxy. A giant nebula hosting one of the most prominent massive young clusters in the ...Milky Way. This is a splendid location for continued studies of stellar birth in star forming regions. This is a great video and good quality. The video is appropriate for fourth grade through high school.
