Gravity, Electricity, Magnetism
From learner.org, produced by California Institute of Technology
Forces at play in the Physics Theater. The gravitational force between two masses, the electric force between two charges, and the magnetic force between two magnetic poles -- all these forces take essentially the same mathematical form. Newton's script suggested connections between electricity and magnetism. Acting on scientific hunches, Maxwell saw the matter in an entirely new light.

Tracing Electricity
From YouTube
What is the path of electricity and how does it get to a light bulb in your house? This video traces the path of electricity and it travel through the grid. It does not have narration, but uses a series of images to show different ways electricity gets to a home. The video could be used as an introduction to a lesson, to show students how to be more aware of this process, or what to avoid if they see one of these lines on the ground. (04:13)

Measuring Electricity from a Photovoltaic
From vimeo.com, produced by Antonio Chaves
Two multimeters are used at the same time to measure volts and amps from a small photovoltaic. The product of these are then used to calculate the watts generated. This provides the basis for further calculations for estimating the cost effectiveness of installing photovoltaic panels. Below is the formula I used for calculating how much time you need to the photovoltaic to pay for itself:
--average hours of sunlight per day × kW generated × $ (cost) per kWh = $ saved per day
--$ (cost) per square meter ÷ $ saved per day = total days needed to pay for photovoltaic per square meter
--÷ 356 days per year = total years needed to pay for photovoltaic per square meter   (01:33)

The Busy World of Richard Scarry-Imagine That - Water Power
From YouTube, produced by CINAR Animation
In this video, Huckle and Lowly Worm wonder where electricity comes from. Water power produces electricity at the dam. The video gives great visuals for the dam and how water power is produced. Dams are big walls that are built to hold the river back. This is a great teaching resource for the elementary classroom and/or special education students. This would work well in conjunction with a science unit on natural resources and energy. (01:06)

Thomas Edison: The Light Bulb (The Story of Us)
From history.com, produced by The Story of US
Thomas Edison's most famous invention, the light bulb, paved the way for modern life. This is a short video about one invention, the light bulb, but adds little to understanding his life. It is interesting for teachers to use as it shows that the light bulb required electricity and that means even more problems to solve. (02:51)
