In this video, Nancy Stoltenberg, Director of WBT Certification,
transforms classroom rules rehearsal into an exciting, critical
thinking exercise for her 2nd graders. Using the Because Clapper and the
Example Popper, students expand their understanding of classroom
procedures with surprisingly high level thinking. Note the "air
punctuation" Nancy's kids use to indicate capital letters, periods and
even a comma! Of exceptional interest, this unrehearsed video
demonstrates how an instructor simply using Mirror and Mirror Words can
introduce a complex, multi-partlesson. (15:13)

This video shows students in the classroom working with iPods/iPads as a teacher narrates about her experiences. Lots of interesting ideas here: "Many of the apps students enjoy playing encompass math and writing skills for pre- school students. For example, students can use their fingers to trace the letters on the iPod touch apps to help them practice writing. Then, they will write those same letters using paper and pencil. For math, students are also able to solve basic problems using fun calculators on the iPod touches."

Video is presented by Dr. Diane Sawyer. The most common misconceptions about dyslexia revolve around people thinking that all dyslexic people read things backwards and that children with dyslexia are lazy and unmotivated. In reality many people with dyslexia do not continue to write letters backwards beyond kindergarten. Children with dyslexia are not lazy or unmotivated they work very hard and usually get frustrated which then in turn leads to being unmotivated. Video gives good information on clearing up some of the myths. Video is good for parents and teachers who want to learn more about dyslexia.
