Tongue-Drive Wheelchair
From sciencedaily.com
Electrical and computer engineers designed a system based on magnets that
enables disabled persons to use the tongue to control the movement of a
wheelchair. Movement of the magnetic tracer attached to the tongue is detected
by an array of magnetic field sensors mounted on a headset outside the mouth. This is a motivating video for students to show that technology can be used to help people in a variety of ways. It can also be used as a problem solving lesson.

Remembering the Berlin Wall: Former Prisoner Tells His Story
From YouTube, produced by DW News
On August 13, 1961, work began on the construction of the Berlin Wall. The barrier was intended to stem the population drain from communist East Germany to West Berlin and West Germany. The wall formalized West Berlin's situation as an island in otherwise communist territory. The enclave was now surrounded by more than a hundred and fifty kilometers of massive fortifications. Yet, West Berlin remained a magnet for those wanting to escape East Germany. (08.57)

Fastest Train Ever Built and the Complete Physics of It
From YouTube, produced by Lesics
Magnetically levitated trains are common nowadays. However, the MagLev train the Central Japan Railway Company developed is quite unique and superior to the other trains. Running at more than 600 km per hour, it has achieved the status of ‘fastest train.’ This train uses superconducting magnets, which is why it is called SC MagLev. Once charged with an exciting current, the superconducting magnets of this train produce a circulating DC current and strong magnetic field forever, with zero loss. (11:33)
