This short video gives excellent real life, close up footage of hundreds of Lesser Flamingos in flight. Students will enjoy the sights and sounds of these amazing birds as they move through their natural environment. Instantly recognizable in flocks of hundreds to tens of thousands, the lesser flamingo has a long neck and long legs, a bent bill and a large body. Shorter and darker pink than the greater flamingo, lesser flamingos also differ in the coloration of the beak. Lesser flamingos have a deep red bill, tipped with black. This is a great resource to help build background knowledge and to help make real world connections between nature and the classroom. (0:44)

The most famous storm in the solar system is also one of the largest: Jupiter's Great Red Spot. The storm is just a blemish on Jupiter, but if you compare it to the size of Earth — this storm could swallow our entire planet whole. In July, NASA Juno spacecraft flew over the spot and NASA then used that data to produce a simulated flight through the Great Red Spot. (01:50)

“This,” said roboticist Raffaello D’Andrea, is the “first installation to be built by flying machines.”…four helicopterish thingies swooped through the air, somehow avoiding each other, and one by one, settled on some “brick dispensers.” Using small plungers they then plucked one brick at a time, carried each to the “building site” and slowly created a wall. It took a few days, but what emerged is a twisting, undulating tower, designed by Swiss architects Fabio Gramazio and Matthias Kohler. ()
